Commitment & Desire

I was once asked, "what's commitment?" Here's my take by sharing a story/reply:
A chicken and a pig were having a discussion. The chicken said, "I am committed to giving one egg everyday." "That's not commitment," the pig said. "That's just participation. Giving bacon, now, THAT's commitment!"

Nothing happens without commitment.
Commitment is as simple as giving and keeping your word. Doing your best. Commitment is doing what you said you would do
- whether or not you feel like it today.
If you fail in a commitment, take another look at it and ask yourself,
"Did I quit too soon?"

Ignore what a man Desires and you ignore the very source of his power...
If you're going to succeed, you've really got to WANT TO, not just wanting to want to.
For me, I simply apply what Nike motto says: Just Do it! But ofcos, it has to be in line with what both your head and heart tell you.

Meeting and finding my true Love of my life and to allow her to share her live with mine. Sweat Glands are activated: This is why nervousness is often accopanied by sweaty palms.
Rate of Breathing increase: This transport more oxygen to the muscles, giving them energy.
Muscle Tense Up: The tensing of the muscles all over the body is a "fight-or-flight" response to adrenaline. The involuntary tensing of the muscles around the throat & chest can also sometimes lead to a higher vocal pitch than normal.
Sense of Euphoria: This creates the "high" that many people experience when they first fall in love.

What a Beautiful & Memorable Sunday! (18th May 2008)

Fast & Furious! Slow & Calm! A coming of 2 distinct feelings were felt.

What a 2nd impression we had of each other upon picking my friend up before heading to ECP in the afternoon. Got on my rented Bike while she strapped up her blades. And off we go towards Changi. Stopped for a short break along the way at the hawker centre for sugarcane to cool down the heat and chatted. Helped her down from the steps as we proceed and continue our exploration of ECP. Cycling and blading towards the "horizon" away from the crowd.

Midway she held on to the bike as we pull away from the crowd. Finally we stopped at our unplanned destination which was peaceful and offer a wonderful view of the Sea and Plane taking off, including a memorable Eagle who soar above the sky. We sat, talk and laze there while absorbing the spaciousness of the beach and watching the sky turns dark, it was almost 3 hrs later before we headed back.

The journey back was very smooth and less crowded. She held on to my bike's handle bar while I paddle on. Somewhere along the way, there was a sudden claster of people coming from both directions, my friend released her grip and bladed ahead while I followed closely behind. That was when a precious moment was formed in a blink of an eye. My strong concern of her safety and a sudden fear that she was going to be knocked down by the crowd that set upon us suddenly. Damn, I was like wanting to throw my bike aside and just run up and catch her if she was to fall. Thank GOD nothing bad happen, and we both survive the onslaught. What a relieve!

In my No.5 Jacket (Enhanced) Uniform. Just been informed by Boss that I will be going on an overseas Exercise from 8 to 24 Oct 08 in Malaysia in support of the Five Power Defence Arrangement(FPDA Ex Bersama Lima 08) Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia and United Kingdom. Hiaz celebrating my BD overseas and at work again.

Looking at the papers and news, it really make me feel that I am damn lucky to be here where natural disaster is considered as non-existent. And whatever problem we think we have is BIG, just take a look at what those people there are going through now. Yours become very small.

Having faith that if such catastrophe of any kind happened here, we will be ready to respond swiftly. Been place on standby since last week for support for both countries in a moment notice.
