Opening The Door

Day 3 Read: 1 Peter 3:1-12

Husbands, likewise, dwell within them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel.

Look upon your partner's need.
Love demands the loving deed;
Tell her that you love her true,
Prove it by the deeds you do.

We Honour God when we honour one another.

One Day is Not Enough

Day 2: Read: Gensis 2:18-25

He who loves his wife love himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it.

A Marriage that's neglected,
Brings pain and bitterness;
But one that's daily nurture,
Bring peace and Happiness.

The Bonds of matrimony are'nt worth much unless the interest is kept up.

The Miracle of Marriage

Day 1 : Read Matthew 19:1-8

They are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man seperate.

"For better or for Worse," we pledge,
Through sickness and through strife;
Any by the help and grace of God
We'll keep these vows for life.

A good marriage requires the determination to be married for good.

The Commitment to Love

Despite what we have heard in countless fairy tales, there is no guarantee that people who get married will live happily ever after. Things can go wrong - sometimes terribly wrong. Even with the Best of intentions, couples may find themselves in a house full of resentment, hostility, unrest, and misery. There is no heartache quite like the heartache of an unhappy marriage. But married life need not be this way.

It has been said that we marry the one we love, and love the one we marry. Love is not only an emotion we feel, but also a decision we make. In love, we cherish, communicate, listen, encourage, enjoy, forgive, respect, honor, and guard our spouse in the marital relationship.

Melee- Built to Last Lyrics (To Zhenyuan)

I’ve looked for love in stranger places
but never found someone like you
someone whose smile
makes me feel I’ve been holding back
and now there’s nothing I can do
‘Cause this is real, and this is good
It warms the inside just like it should
most of all (x2), It’s built to last (x2)

All of our friends saw from the start
so why didn’t we believe it too?
now look, where we are
you’re in my heart now
and there’s no escaping it for you
‘Cause this is real, and this is good

It warms the inside just like it should
but most of all (x2), it’s built to last

Walking on the hills at night

with those fireworks and candlelight
you and i were made to get love right
cause this is real, and this is good
it warms the inside just like it should
but most of all (x2) , it’s built to last
‘Cause you are the sun in my universe

consider the best when we felt the worst
and most of all (x5)
most of all it’s built to last

USED VS LOVED

While a man was polishing his new car, his 4 yr old son picked up a stone and scratched lines on the side of the car. In anger, the man took the child's hand and hit it many times not realizing he was using a wrench.

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures. When the child saw his father..... with painful eyes he asked, 'Dad when will my fingers grow back?' The man was so hurt and speechless; he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times. Devastated by his own actions....... sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches; the child had written 'LOVE YOU DAD'.

The next day that man committed suicide. . .

Anger and Love have no limits; choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely life & remember this: Things are to be used and people are to be loved.

The problem in today's world is that people are used while things are loved.

Let's try always to keep this thought in mind: Things are to be used,People are to be loved.

The Reasons I Love You

The Reasons I Love You
by Carrie Sue

I love you because you make me happy

I love you because you make me feel safe and secure

I love your smile

I love the way you say my name

I love the look in your eyes when you tell me you love me

And how you laugh at me when I do something stupid, when others would put me down.

I love the fact that when I'm around you I can be myself and not worryabout what you may think of me, because I know you love me for who I am.

No matter what my faults may be.

I love being able to wake up with you by my side...

It makes my days better

At night I love watching you sleep, hearing you take each breath, and

feeling your heart beat with the palm of my hand...

reality hits that you are not a dream

YOU ARE MINE.

I love the way you wrap your arms around me and hold me really tight,

like there is no tomorrow

And I love the way I feel when your lips barely touch mine for a kiss,

the love and emotions that go through me at that moment are unexplainable.

I love your laugh

I love hearing your voice

I love that you get along with my family and friend, no matter how much you dislike them, or who they are.

And hearing you tell me your stories, you could tell them to me a thousand times, and I will never get tired of them, because they are a part of you.

But the main reason I love you is because.....

You are you!

Friends

Friends....

They love you,

but they are not your lover

They care for you,

but they are not from your family

They are ready to share your pain,

but they are not in your blood relation.

They are........FRIENDS! !!!!

True friend...

Scolds like a DAD...

Cares like a MOM...

Teases like a SISTER...

Irritates like a BROTHER...

And finally loves U more than a LOVER...
To all my Dear friends, thank you for companying me through certain stages of my life.

Baby officially 3 months le. Now can tell people. Just hoping that my morning sickness will get less often. Smell and taste bud very strong. Can't stand strong food smell or toilet smell. Sure wanna puke. For food wise, no food that will leave an after taste in the mouth. Lost 2 kgs with the vomitting and small appetite sometimes. Looking a bit too skinny with a slight protuding tummy. Sorry.... made my hubby gain quite some weight cos he always company me to eat and eating my share too when I can't eat.

High Blood Pressure

Oh mine, my health been really bad of late. Past two months, my BP has been fluctuating between 135 to a high of 175. Normal is below 120. Getting bad. Getting lots of headaches. Been trying to catch up with my running again. Eatting less salt and watching my diet. At time, just feel like so many thing comings at the same time for me to deal with. Worst is having to cope with stress factors at work. Sick of things being managed, to me, having to work there is like having nightmare everyday.

The other half of me

We've been through a lot
Together, you and me,
But that confirms it even more
That we are meant to be.

Our love wouldn't be complete
If challenges didn't arise.
We know our love can last
And bounce back from our past.

You've always been there for me
Through thick and through thin.
I know if you're on my side
I will always win.

You complete me
In every single way.
Sometimes you finish things
I'm trying to say.
You are my other half.
The true love of my life.
I am glad
For you to be my husband, and I your wife.

Thank you Husband

I love you because you make me smile
like I have never smiled before

I love you because you make me laugh
until I cannot laugh anymore

I love you because you make me sigh
when you do those things you do so well

I love you because you make me yearn
for so many things I cannot even tell

But most of all I just love you
because you are the best thing to come into my life

I love you with all of my heart and soul
and I am proud to be your wife!

A Honest Daily Effort

Christ: My CHILD, so often your thoughts are on unimportant things. You do not center them enough on Me nor on your greatest need. After a few moments of recollection, your thoughts go right back to useless distractions. As a result you rarely get a good look at yourself and your actions. You hardly know your real worth because you take so little notice of your desires, motives, and intentions. You fail to be impressed by your many faults because you are blind to what is going on within your heart. Your interior motives are often selfish and corrupt. Consequently, your external actions are very imperfect and unsatisfactory. From a pure heart come the fruits of a good life, but from an imperfect heart there can only come an imperfect life.

External activity proceeds from the internal vigor. If you serve Me only by external observances, you are no true follower of Mine. You must apply the Ax to the root of your troubles. Learn to control this selfish nature of yours, and you will possess My Peace. I daily offer My grace for this divine purpose. Do not keep looking at your weakness. Do not be afraid to make the attempt. Nothing is impossible to Me. Fix your eyes on Me and make a sincere effort to follow My Will. Your difficulties will gradually vanish.

Try as you will, you will always make a number of unavoidable mistakes. Still, with a little violence to yourself, you will gradually be able to serve Me with more ease. If you rooted out of your life one single fault each year, you would soon become a perfect man. Nowadays, however, people seem to be at their best at the beginning of their conversion. They consider it a great accomplishment if they do not become worse with time.

Think:
Many admit that they have faults. when, however, any particular fault of theirs is pointed out to them, they will immediately justify themselves. They simply refuse to come face to face with any particular fault of theirs. As a result they live a lifetime with little progress in virtue. To better my life I must see and admit what is wrong. Then I can proceed to improve myself.

Pray:
My God, make me brave enough to face my faults, honest enough to acknowledge them, and strong enough to fight them. I think of many things each day, but so many of my interest are unimportant and useless. Give me the strength and the generosity to make definite resolutions against definite faults. May I never be so selfish as to stop trying to please You more each day. Though my faults seem to continue, still my efforts must remain firm and I must go on trying to become daily a better man. If I will go on trying, I cannot help becoming better each day. A continued effort will slowly destroy my selfishness, and my faults will gradually weaken and die. Lord, on You I depend for the light and strength for this daily battle. Amen.

Great Effort by Everton

Reflections

Choices & Time!

In truth, people can generally make time for what they chose to do; it is not really the time but the will that is lacking.

When you make the right choice, you will make enough time.

To Act or Not to Act?

Let us not be content to wait and see what will happen, but give us the determination to make the right things happen.

If everyone waits, nothing happens.

Quality Time (Love Language)

Quality time is more than mere proximity. It’s about focusing all your energy on your mate. A husband watching sports while talking to his wife is NOT quality time. Unless all of your attention is focused on your mate, even an intimate dinner for two can come and go without a minute of quality time being shared.

Quality conversation is very important in a healthy relationship. It involves sharing experiences, thoughts, feelings and desires in a friendly, uninterrupted context. A good mate will not only listen, but offer advice and respond to assure their mate they are truly listening. Many mates don’t expect you to solve their problems. They need a sympathetic listener.

An important aspect of quality conversation is self-revelation. In order for you to communicate with your mate, you must also be in tune with your inner emotions. It is only when you understand your emotions and inner feelings will you then be able to share quality conversation, and quality time with your mate.

Quality activities are a very important part of quality time. Many mates feel most loved when they spend physical time together, doing activities that they love to do. Spending time together will bring a couple closer, and, in the years to come, will fill up a memory bank that you can reminisce about in the future.Whether it’s sitting on the couch and having a brief conversation or playing together in a tennis league, quality time is a love language that is shared by many. Setting aside focused time with your mate will ensure a happy marriage.

Extracted from http://www.fivelovelanguages.com/learn.html by Gary Chapman

My Realisation
I have been missing out on giving quality conversation to you.
Miss out on telling you I cherish your being around me.
Miss out on telling you this is the way I love you.
Miss out on knowing that this is one way you feel my love.

Too little words from the mouth can kill a relationship.
Words express your interest that you want the other person to know about you, your experience, your thoughts and your feelings.

Too little words just like my dad.
Much better at writing than talking
Now the quieter one in this relationship.
This is no excuse not to learn to speak more.
Now I want to learn this way to communicate my love for you
This also encourage me more to speak as a way to tell you I love you.
Zhenyuan

When she's 48, she's a ping pong ball, 2 men pushing to each other.
When she's 58, she's a punctured ball, her man keep her for good memories.

MAN
At 20, a man is like a coconut, so much to offer so little to give.
At 30, a man is like durian, dangerous but delicious.
At 40, a man is like watermelon, big round and juicy.
At 50, a man is like mandarin orange, the season will come but once a year.
At 60, a man is like a raisin, dried out, wrinkled and cheap.

MEN & WOMEN (JOKES)

Women are unpredictable.
Before marriage, she expects a man.
After marriage, she suspects a man.
After death, she respects him.

There was this guy who told his woman that he loved her so much that he would go thru hell for her.
They got married and now he's going thru hell.

A man inserted an "AD" in the classified: "Wife wanted".
Next day he received a hundred letters.
They all say the same thing: "You can have mine"....

When a man opens a door of a car for his wife.
You can be sure of 1 thing: either the car is new or his wife.

Its easy to tell if a man is married or not.
Just watch him drive a car with a woman sitting beside him.
If both his hands are on the wheels, you can be sure he's married.

A man received a letter from kidnappers.
The letter said "If you don't promise to send us a $100,000, I swear we will kidnap your wife."
The poor man wrote back: "I am afraid I can't keep my promise but I hope you will keep yours."

What's the matter, you looked depressed."
"I'm having trouble with my wife."
"What happened?"
"She said she wasn't going to speak to me for 30 days."
"But that ought to make you happy."
"It did, but today is the last day."

SOMEONE (2nd Perspective)

There is always someone for everyone. To stay together as a couple.
Someone whose faults and weaknesses you can live with
and goodness and strengths you can't live without.

Continue to love one another and see your relationship blossom.
Pray to GOD for his blessing and guidance.

SOMEONE

There is always someone for everyone to live as a couple.

Someone who is bad that you can live with...

or someone who is good whom you can't live without.

LUSTFUL MEN, PROUD WOMEN

Vatican City: Lust leads men to sin. For women, pride is their biggest downfall.

This is how the sexes struggle differently with the seven deadly sins of pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed and sloth. Men and Women sin in different ways.

Women are not adverse to lust, but primarily occupied with pride, envy and anger. Sloth does not set in until after gluttony and greed.

Lust: Excessive thoughts or desire of sexual nature.

Gluttony: Over-consumption of or overl indulging in anything to the point of waste.

Sloth: The failure to utilise one's talents and gifts.

Anger: Inordinate and uncontrolled feelings that can manifest as denial of the truth or self-denial, or generally wishing to do evil or harm to others.

Pride: The desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to compliment others and excessive love of self.

Envy: Resentment of another person for having something one lacks, and wishing the other person to be deprived of it.

Greed: Excessive acquisition of material goods.

Men: 1. Lust 2. Gluttony 3. Sloth 4. Anger 5. Pride 6. Envy 7. Greed
Women: 1. Pride 2. Envy 3. Anger 4. Lust 5. Gluttony 6. Greed 7. Sloth

Marriage Vow

This woman whom you hold by the hand is to be your wife
She had given you one of the most sacred things under heaven
A woman's life and a woman's love
You may bring her great joy or cause her deep sorrow
It is not what you bring her in the material way that will make true happiness
Riches without love are nothing
Gifts without the giver is bare
The practise of those virtues as husband that you have shown her as a lover will keep her heart wane to your heart
Do you take her to be your lawfully wedded wife
To live together in the bonds of marriage
Do you solemnly promise before these witnesses that
you will love, honour, comfort and keep her
In sickness and in health
In adversity and prosperity and forsaking all others
Keep yourself only for her and be faithful to her as long as you both shall live

A beautiful piece given to us by Reverend Joshua Lim
Thank you Reverend Lim for being our Solemnisation. You made it so meaningful to both of us.
Taken from the video of our solemnisation ceremony.
Thank you Sean for doing up our video so well and capturing all the precious moments.

Our Dream Home

Went back to City View @ Boon Keng this afternoon together with parents to have a look at the showflat. Two MRT away from parents place at Serangoon and 3 stations to Dhoby Ghuat MRT with the Boon Keng MRT within walking distance. Plenty of facilities around and the upcoming City Square Mall to be opened by year end.

Nice City view too during the day and at night. Yesterday before we went, from the web, I flagged out the Block and unit which I will consider and oh are we lucky, those available was one of those I wanted. Nice Block (8) and Nice Unit No (148) with interesting Poster Code 330008. I am 33 and Cecilia 30 and this place is classified as Central just like our Wedding Venue, 333 Orchard Road. So coincidence. No way to run man...

With all those good pointers, both Cecilia and I decided on the purchase of our idea unit! Yes! We have booked a 5 Room Unit 1216 sqft (113sqm) going for $591,000. The flats are half way done up till the 20 floor with max at 40 floor. Have also apply for the HDB Grant to be offset with the booking fee of 5%. Earliest expected TOP in Jun 2010, just nice if earlier better.

Thank you GOD for helping with our house hunting! Another big project completed for both of us in just 9 mths! Fast! Ironman and Pepper have found our Loft! http://hoihup.com/brochure.pdf

Sweet Valentine's Day

With My dearest Ironman in His No.1 uniform at friend's wedding

This is our 1st Valentine's Day together. A very sweet weekend for us where we chose to really spend time just with each other.

We also got to celebrate this special date together with his friend as we attended his friend's wedding. Wow what a day. Felt extra sweet and blessed as we shared the happiness of the couple and renewed our memories of our own wedding day. Very sweet indeed.

Haha the best of all. I had to see my husband in his No.1 uniform again which I only saw during my own wedding for a short while. This time for a longer time. Sword bearer this time. So smart looking. Never had I thought of in the past to marry a miltary officer and having a miltary wedding. Felt like a princess with my prince charming I want to live the rest of my life with beside me that day.

From Pepper

Mum's Birthday 08 February

It was my Mum's birthday on 08 February. My dear Edwin is very thoughtful. He had put aside the whole day to spend with my family. Planned out the day itinery. Shopping at harbour front, then Sentosa and off to East Coast for cycling. Spent a great day out and some quality time with my parents and sisters.

Outside the museum taken by Edwin

My parents are so happy and found the Museum walk to be very interesting. We walked through the history of Singapore and took quite some photos. This is the 10th time my dear had been to this museum.

My mum enjoying herself

Us with the baby cot. Our parents' wish for a grandchild soon. Hehe

One not so serious picture of us

Thank you dear for giving my parents a wonderful son-in-law and a son that they always want. A loving and understanding husband to me. Someone who guide me towards marriage life. Taking effort to help each other into acceptance and understanding of each other.

From the deepest of my heart, I want to tell you how much I appreciate you so much for everything. Especially the time when you stood by me quietly while I was in the madness of my accounts closing and the other times I was busy with my work. You took care of the big things like the wedding preparation and after the wedding, you chose to company me in my office while I was working on the last weekend of Dec and the New Year's eve and New year day.

Want to walk the rest of my life with you hand in hand

Both Managers & Companies

Both are crucial to the survival of any employee...
Both have power over you as much as how much you allow them...
Both have impact on your life...home life...
Both have a purpose of keeping you...
Both can determine your climb up the cooperate ladder...
Both can lead you to the dream lifestyle you choose...

But... both will never remember you once you leave the company for another...
But... both will never remember you once you are sick...
But... both will never care if you are happy or not...
But... both will never care if you have enough money to live by...
But... both will never be there for you if fall...
But... both will never sacrifice themselves for you...

Because... both will never think twice if they need to save their own skin...
Because... both will drain you dry for their own good...
Because... both will want you to be under them for as long as possible...
Because... both will jealous if you are better or a threat to them...
Because... both will hope that you will never be wise enough to leave them...
Because... both want to have an easy life too...

Blatantly... Both of them need you to work so that the company will stay afloat and your manager have someone to do his/her work for him/her...

Built to earn a relatively comfortable life but not earn just to pay for a lifestyle that may not be built to last as you could drop dead any time due to the work stress and ridiculous demand.

The Choice is yours!

Everton Vs Aston Villa

Well done Everton! We have beaten Aston Villa 3 goals to 1 in the 5th round FA Cup. Quarter Finals here we come!

LIFE & WORK

How long more do you have?
Do you think that your boss will cry and be at your bedside when you are ill?
Do you think that your company will close down because you are not in office?
Do you still think about your colleagues who have left the company months/years ago?

Have you even spoken to someone who have lost a love one?
I should have spend more time with them.
I should have done this.
I should have done that.
I should not have said that.
I should not have done that.
Why have this happened to me?
Why God allow this to happened?

Too late for regrets? What have you done today for your love ones? Have a meal with them? give them a hug? Spend time with them? Making them worry? Pissing them off? Living your life as it you are alone in this world? Time Flies...before we know it, we are...part of history.

Selfish Act VS Selfless Act

You decide, you manage, your create your situation and execute on your own actions without thinking about how it may affect others.

You feel, you discuss, you share an opportunity and follow your actions together with others in your heart and mind.

Which Act will you choose for today?

SILENCE / ACTION

  • Keeping Silence can prevent unnecessary conflicts,
  • Remaining Silence is a double edge sword that cuts both sides,
  • Prolong Silence is a disaster in waiting.
  • Fast Action could prevent a disaster from happening,
  • Prompt Action by both could heal all wounds,
  • No Action...Good luck to all!

Our Wedding Pics are Finally Out.

FA Cup 4th Round

Yes, Tonite, EVERTON will host LIVERPOOL at Goodison Park for the replay. You go Blues. Everton to win by a goal is all that I ask.

Things will turn out Right.

You are Unique.

My Current Version of Working Attitude!

Since I met my dearest Zhenyuan Aka "Pepperoni", I am back to my usual self.

Tasks given is an opportunity to shine,
Minimum instruction is that your boss believe in your ability,
More job given is that you have good track records and someone to be trusted.
Letting you run the event with no supervision means that you are able to excel and stand on your own two feet.

Thus Continue with the good work and promotion and recognition will follow. Counting down the days to 1st July 2009.

My Once Version of Office Life and Politics

Arrow continue to come...
Work never stop continuing...
Shit continue to drop...
Objectives continue to be unclear...
Responsibilities continue to mount...
Time continue to run out...
Manpower continue to deplete...
Morale continue to be going down hill...
Reinforcement continue to be postpone...
Bills continue to come...

and so we continue to

accept the arrows,
work your ass till it shit,
despite vague objectives & responsibility,
little time and manpower, couple with low morale with no reinforcement in sight but tons of bills to settle!

Bottom line, SUCK Thumb!

Busy time at work!

Wow, have been taking a break after a day's work, been a month since I blogged.
